Naomi Fay Turner, age 98, died Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born on December 13, 1926, in Elkhart, the daughter of Ernest S. and Mollie Lee (Wood) Paul.
Naomi grew up in Elkhart and married Richard Lee Turner on March 11, 1944, in Elkhart. She was a kind and loving wife and spent most of her time in Baca County, Colorado, at “The Farm”. Naomi was a self-learner and had a very independent streak; some would call stubborn. She thought the world of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Naomi was a former member of the Church of the Nazarene in Elkhart.
Naomi is survived by her son, Don Richard Turner and wife, Susan, of Manhattan, Kansas; grandchildren, Brandon Turner, Amy Ferguson and husband, Jeff; Michaela Turner Closson and husband, Mike; Chad Turner and wife, Debra; six great-grandchildren, Adam Richter and wife Heather; Andrea Richter; Josh Richter and wife Samantha; Turner Closson; Anson Turner; Cora Turner; Taylor Patterson and husband Logan; Torie Proctor and husband Marshall; and Elie Ferguson; and 11 great-great-grandchildren, Milo, Heidi, Adelaide, Rex, Raven, Finnian, Jett, Ari, Nova, Tristen, and Logan; two nieces, Margaret Paul; Nancy Paul Nance; and a nephew Paul Woodson.
Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mollie Paul; husband, Richard Turner; two brothers, Jess D. Paul and Lee Paul; sister, Ruth Mae Woodson; son, Boyd Turner; and granddaughter, Natasha Sue Turner.
Funeral service and interment will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart with Jess Lee officiating.
