Nadine Reiher, age 78, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020, at her home in Hugoton. She was born August 18, 1941, in Sheffield, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Steenhard) Schwierjohann.
Nadine grew up and graduated high school in Sheffield, Iowa. She married Wayne Reiher on July 18, 1959, in Allison, Iowa, where they lived for two years before moving to Alden, Iowa. Nadine and Wayne moved to Hugoton, Kansas, in 2001. Nadine enjoyed being a homemaker, weaving rag rugs on her loom, and tending her flowers and garden. She attended Trinity Baptist Church, led a women’s Bible study, and enjoyed coffee and fellowship with her friends.
Survivors include her sons, Kevin Reiher and wife Chris of Hoquiam, Washington, and Jeffrey Reiher and wife Cindy of Greeley, Colorado; daughter, Brenda Kinser and husband Steve of Hugoton; brother, Clarence Schwierjohann of Glennville, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Nadine is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna Schwierjohann; husband of 54 years, Wayne Reiher; brother, Edward Schwierjohann; and sister, Anna Mae Marquardt.
Funeral service will be Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church in Hugoton, Kansas, with Pastor Terry Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, February 21, 2020, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with family present from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton.
