MYRNA CRAIG passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on May 10, 2017. She was born on January 15, 1940 in Beaver, Oklahoma during a massive snow storm – she told of her father frantically riding a horse through the storm to get the town doctor. Her family moved to Kansas where she graduated from Meade High School in 1958. There she met the love of her life, Orval Byron (Bud) Craig. They married on August 29, 1959. She and Bud were married over 57 years and raised their four children in Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri until settling in Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1974. Myrna loved the Lord and was baptized at Parkview Christian Church in 1978. She also loved the law and was a legal assistant for many years until she and
Bud retired to the Craig family ranch in Fowler, Kansas in 1998. Myrna was an amazing cook and often served her family, friends, neighbors, and church. She was skilled at all forms of stitching and a talented artist. Above all, she was a woman dedicated to her family. Myrna’s parents and her sister, Koeta Rhodes, precede her in death. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bud, and their four children: Carla Talavera, of Lexington, Kentucky, Gordon Van, of Morganton, North Carolina, Byron Marc, of Fowler, Kansas, and Kim of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren: Braxton, Josh, Taylor, Nina, Emily, Hannah, Isaac and Lillie; her sister Noreta and her husband Jim Barragree of Wichita, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at First Christian Church, 507 Highland Street, Ashland, Kansas 67831.
