Myra Lundgrin

Myra Lundgrin, 84, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away January 26, 2013 at Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, Oklahoma.

Myra Anna Lundgrin was born October 30, 1928 in Pratt, Kansas, the daughter of Arndt and Anna Jorns Petrowsky. This is where she attended school and graduated from high school. In 1946 she attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas studying in the College of Fine Arts and then attended University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. She met Alexander Lundgrin at his brother, George’s wedding. They were united in marriage on October 26, 1957 in Hooker, Oklahoma. They lived in Hooker.

She was confirmed on April 6, 1941 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Natrona, Kansas. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she played the organ for worship services and conducted the church choir until her health failed. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, Lamplighters, and sponsored the church’s youth group. She was a member of Hagolu and OMTA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband Alexander Lundgrin of the home; two sons, Daryl Lundgrin and wife, Becky of Russellville, Kentucky, Michael Lundgrin of Hooker, Oklahoma; two daughters, Katherine Strate of Everett, Washington, Mary Ann Malone and husband, Mitch of Beaver, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Zee, Kim, Rebekah, Ericka, Emma, Brenton, David, Brandon, Tina, Natasha, Joshua and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Rev. Conrad Oehlert officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
