Monte Lee Olson, 70, passed away in his home at Sapulpa, Oklahoma, on November 10, 2019.

Monte, a former Tyrone resident, was born in Alva, Oklahoma, January 7, 1949, to Kenneth and Bernita (Nance) Olson.

He attended school in Alva, graduating High School in 1967.

Monte is an Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam Conflict.
On May 12, 2001 He married Beverly Ralston in Liberal Kansas, she preceded him in death in July 2019.

Monte drove a semi-truck for many years, delivered for USPS, and worked at The Oklahoman.

He enjoyed football, races and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, his parents, and brother-in-law Gary Brown.

Monte is survived by his three children,
Son: Kipp (Jaci) Olson
Daughters: Angela Olson
Shana (Bel) Cobbs;

Sisters: Pam Allen and Debbie Stone

Grandchildren: Kolby (Paige) Olson, Blake Strickland and Aubrey Strickland, Aspen (Reggie) Porter Landen Harvey, Kaedric Cobbs and Kaedyn Cobbs.

Great-grandchildren Kyren Porter and Kade Porter.

Step Children: Ronda (Carlos) Salazar
Sheila (Gil) Keebler
Richard (Danette) McCroskey

Step Grandchildren: Kala, K’Lynna, Michael, Sean and Christopher McCroskey, Daniel Martin, and Veronica Caldaron Step Great Grand Children: Amaya Cohens, Elizabeth Mendez, Allie Mendez, Ismael Caldaron, Aden McCroskey and Emma Rose.

Graveside memorial services will be conducted at Restlawn Cemetery, Liberal, Kansas, on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 12:00 by Pastor Mike Isaacs. Honors will be provided by the Lawrence M. Wimmer, American Legion Post #80.

Services are under the care of Brenneman-Hornung Funeral Home.
