Michelle Renea Perez

Michelle Renea Perez, age 48, of Johnson, Kansas, died Friday, July 12, 2019, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson, Kansas. She was born October 9, 1970, in West Plains, Missouri, the daughter of Curtis Ray and Barbara Ann (Schweizer) Houser.

Michelle moved to Johnson in 1973. She married Juan Carlos Perez on October 15, 1989, in Johnson. She worked at the Johnson State Bank, Stanton County Library and USD 214. Michelle loved being with her grandkids, reading and going to the casinos. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Jalissa Montes and husband Jose of Garden City, and Marcus Perez of Johnson; three grandchildren, Pedro, Isaiah, and Alex Montes; and parents, Curtis and Barbara Houser of Johnson.

Michelle is preceded in death by her husband, Juan in 2016; brother, Curtis Houser, Jr.; and grandparents, Cyrus and Maria Houser, and Earl and Geneva Schweizer.

Vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Johnson. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Aneesh Parappanattu, MSFS officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
