Michael D. “Coop” Cooper, 55, of Liberal died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Southwest Medical Center.
He was born October 10, 1964 at Liberal, Kansas, the son of Ervin “LC” and Beatrice (Ward) Whitehead.
Coop was a graduate of Liberal High School; Class of 1983.
He worked at National Beef Packing Co., the Liberal Good Samaritan Center for 10 years and with the City of Liberal Parks & Recreation for 30 years. Coop enjoyed playing Poker with friends, playing and Refereeing sports, watch western movies, and loved spending time with his kids.
Coop is survived by Four Sons, Michael D Cooper, Jr. of Elkhart, KS, Demetrius Edmondson of Liberal, KS, Kamryn Jennings of Liberal, KS, Jaden Jennings of Liberal, KS; Two Daughters, Brittney Agosto of Oklahoma, City, OK, and Kaliyah Jennings of Liberal, KS; Three Grandchildren, Destynee, Xerayah and Zayleigh; Two Sisters, Leatrice Ward of Liberal, KS, Debra Carr and Husband Casey of Garden City, KS; One Brother, Troy Cooper and wife Shirley of Rolla, KS;
He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother, Charles Edward Ward
Due to CDC guideline’s and State requirements restricting gathering size at Funeral Services, Coops family will be having a Private Family-Only Graveside Service; a Public Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced.
