Merle Joan Wilkerson

Merle Joan Wilkerson 90, died, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was born May 5, 1924 in Tribune, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Gladys Smid. She grew up Liberal, KS and was a longtime resident of Turpin, Oklahoma and was a member of the Turpin Baptist Church.

She own and operated an Upholstery Shop for many years.

Jerry Wilkerson of Wichita, KS

1 Daughter Jo Anne Brooks of Galena, MO

1 Sister Jean Fox of Liberal, KS

1 Brother Jim Smid of Stanley, NM

9 grandchildren 20 great grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Don Wilkerson, 1 daughter Karen May, 2 brothers Jack and Joe Smid and I sister Arlene Wright.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 1 at the Turpin Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Cox presiding.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation

Memorial contribution may be sent to the Merle Wilkerson Memorial Fund in care of the Turpin Branch of the Bank of Beaver City P.O. Box 100 Turpin, Oklahoma.
