Melvin Carl “PaPa” Porter

Melvin Carl “PaPa” Porter, 65, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at
Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. He was born April 19, 1948 in
Garnett, KS the son of Ralph C. and Emma Ellen (Keller) Porter. He was
raised by his step dad L.G. Barney Brock.

He graduated from Liberal High School in 1966 and attended Garden City
Community College. He worked at various places such as farming, National
Beef Packing Plant. He became a master electrician and for the past 30
years he owned Ram Electric. He was an avid bowler, shooter, and did
metal detecting. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spent time with his
family and friends.

He was a member of the H.O.G. for many years and was a member of the
Elks Club.

On November 18, 1966 he married his high school sweetheart Schenena
Jones at Liberal, KS. She survives.

Father in law H.P. “Corky” Jones Chandler, TX

4 Grandchildren Kennedy M. Porter Edmond, OK, Morgan, Keaton and Catie
Jackson Pueblo, CO.
Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many day care kids
that knew him as “PaPa”

He was preceded in death by his Father, Step father, and Mother in law
Wilma Jean Jones.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 6, 2013 at
Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel

There will be no visitation time as cremation has taken place.
