Melissa “Mel” Chaffin

Melissa “Mel” Chaffin, 42, of Liberal, passed away on April 7, 2017 in Wichita, KS.

She was born on January 1, 1975 to Frank Spencer and Rosemarie (Marchitto) Stacy in Hamilton, Bermuda.

On October 7, 2004 she married Christopher Chaffin in Las Vegas, NV. He survives.

She attended school at South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, WA. Mel moved to San Angelo, TX aree where she obtained her Associates Degree in Accounting. Melissa lived in several different states including Washington, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and Kansas. Mel married Chris while he was active duty with the United States Navy stationed in Bremerton, WA, where she was an active member of the CPOA Wives and the Ombudsman Programs. After her daughter Savannah was born she became a stay at home mom. Mel enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, traveling, the outdoors, and she loved her dogs!

Mel is also survived by Daughter, Savannah K Chaffin of Liberal, KS; Step-Daughter, Breanna Chaffin of Belfair, WA; Two Granddaughters, Lilliann Chaffin and Olivia White of Belfair, WA; Step-Sister and Step-Brother, Monika Stacy and Steffen Stacy of Poulsbo, WA; Her Father, Frank Spencer and wife Delvina of Verdigris, OK and Mother- Rosemarie Stacy and husband Mike of Poulsbo, WA; Several Aunts and Uncles.

She was preceded in death by her Brother, Andre’ Yob.

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday April 18, 2017 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Jack Jacob, officiating.
