Marylin A. Headrick, age 83, died September 19, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on September 11, 1939, the daughter of Everett Lee Smith and Dorothy (Keyser) Smith in Toppenish, Washington.

Marylin completed 13 years of school and graduated from Liberal High School. She was united in marriage to her husband of 62 years, Ivan David Headrick on March 15, 1958, in Liberal, Kansas. Ivan preceded her in death February 11, 2021.
Marylin always had a smile on her face and was ready to lead a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Marylin was a volunteer for the Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary and helped with many funeral luncheons for the church. She also taught the 2 year olds Sunday School Class for many years. Marylin always helped on the family farm preparing meals for the harvest workers and driving a grain truck. She also loved working in her garden and flowerbeds. Marylin organized large memorable Easter Parties at the family farm. She will always be remembered as an amazing cook and baker, winning many ribbons with her baked goods and flowers that were entered in the County Fair.

Her sons, David, Kelly of Liberal, Gary his wife, Jennifer of Sublette and John his wife Laura Headrick of Towanda, Kansas
Daughters, Sheri and husband Max Byrn of Woodward, Oklahoma
And Joan and husband, Layne Glunt of Ottawa, Illinois.
Brothers, Paul Smith, his wife, Linda of Ogden, Utah
Brothers-in-law, Bill Hand and his wife, Laura and
Ernie Milton
Beloved grandmother of Amanda (Jordan) Chambers, Julia Byrn, Jacob, Hayden, and Regan Headrick, Kristen, Preston and Trinity Turner, Porche Pearson, Jessica Headrick, Colby, Landon and Avery Glunt, Zane and Brianna Headrick, Josiah (Theresa) Royse, and Josh Royse, and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. The family will be present from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM to receive friends.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022,
at the United Methodist Church, 116 W. 3rd, Liberal, Kansas. Rev. Brad Bennett presiding. Burial to follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
