Mary Winifred (Brownell) Smith, 94, died on Tuesday evening June 12, 2018 at her home.

                Mary was the daughter of Jesse LeRoy and Mary (Neathery) Brownell. She was born on July 31, 1923 in Stevens County, Kansas and was a lifetime resident.

                Mary and Hugh Darrell (H.D.) Smith were married on July 1, 1945 at the United Methodist Church, Moscow, Kansas. H.D. preceded her in death on October 5, 2010.   She was a member of Hugoton United Methodist Church and a dedicated school teacher in Hugoton Public School System.

                Survivors include, a son, Eric N. Smith and wife Patricia Roach Smith, Lawrence, KS.; a daughter, Marilyn N. Smith and husband Michael McEachern, Beaufort, SC.; a sister, Miriam Wainman, Moberly, MO.; grandchildren, Logan Smith and wife Sasha, Lauren Smith, Andrew Smith-Tomlinson, Sarah Clement & husband Dereck, Maggie Smith-McEachern & husband Gavin Hammond; great grandchildren, Wren Smith, Alexander, Oliver and Noah Clement and many relatives and friends.

                She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Muriel Frisbie and Wilma Fazzino.

                Memorials have been established for Hugoton United Methodist Church. Memorials may be mailed to Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home-PO Box 236-Hugoton, KS 67951.

                Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10 AM at Hugoton United Methodist Church and burial in the Hugoton Cemetery with Pastor Becky Davison and Pastor Harry Cross presiding.

                Friends may call Thursday 10 AM to 8 PM and Friday 10 AM to 6 PM at Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
