Mary Margaret (Oder) Harms

Mary Margaret (Oder) Harms, age 79, died Thursday afternoon, May 12, 2016, at the DSA Hospice of the Southwest, Amarillo, Texas.

She was born June 16, 1936, at Hugoton, Kansas, the daughter of Wayne and Margaret (Lily) Oder. As a young girl, she attended the Hugoton school system, graduating from Hugoton High School. After high school, she lived in Liberal, Kansas, Enid, Oklahoma, and was a resident of Amarillo for the past twenty-five years, she was a baker and a cake decorator.

She was a member of the Church of Christ, and she enjoyed making photo albums, knitting, making quilts and afgans, and spending time with her family and friends.

In 1952, she married Erbie Kirk at Tahlequah, Oklahoma. In 1974, she married Paul J. Harms. He precedes her in death on January 4, 2016.

Terry Kirk of Tahlequah, Oklahoma

Tammy Kirk of Nixa, Missouri

Lynn Kirk of Bohling Green, Kentucky

Stepdaughters, Jamie Harms of Hendersonville, North Carolina

Tracy Duncan of Salina, Kansas

A brother, Bobby Oder of Hugoton, Kansas

Six grandchildren Two great-grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Esther.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
