Mary Lou Underwood

Mary Lou Underwood, 81, of Libeal, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

She was born on January 8, 1939 to Ezekial and Irene (Leonard) Swank at Chetopa, KS.

Mary had a strong work ethic and a loving, helpful heart for those in need. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, going for walks, working in her yard, and loved her dogs. Mary also loved her family and gave them strength, love, compassion, acceptance, never judgmental, food when they didn’t have it, a safe place to stay, and unconditional forgiveness.

Mary is survived by Two Granddaughters, Victoria Underwood and husband Martin Lewis of Liberal, KS, Kristy Staples of Sandstone, MN; Three Grandsons, Josh Underwood and wife Crystal of Liberal, KS, Charles Underwood, Nicholas Lagunas of San Diego, CA; Seven Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sons, Charles Underwood and Curtis Underwood, Daughter, Donna Lagunas, and her siblings.

Graveside Services will be 10:00 am on Monday, September 28, 2020, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Liberal, Kansas.
