Mary K. Ryan

Mary K. Ryan, age 77, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born September 4, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of John and Fern (Rickerson) Dixon.

Mary grew up in Kansas City and then lived in Ulysses from 1963 -1983. During that time she worked at Tower Lanes, Spudnut Shop, Martha’s Cafe, Ideal Food Store, The Ulysses News, and Russ’ Jack & Jill. She was a member of ESA Sorority and a Girl Scout Leader. After living in Northeast Oklahoma for several years, she moved back to Ulysses in 2017 and worked with her daughter, Tracy Teeter at the Main ARTery. Mary enjoyed reading, travel, cooking, animals, trees, crafts, and any kind of artwork. Mary had a big smile for anyone she met.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Tracy Teeter and husband Lynn of Ulysses; grandchildren, Ty and Amy Townsend; great-grandchildren, Jansyn and Jaxon Townsend; niece, Brandee Glugla; Tracy’s dad, William (Bill) Anderson, and many friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Woods; sister, Barbara Young, and husband Larry Ryan.

Memorial service will be Monday, January 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas. The service may also be viewed on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Live.
