Mary Grace Deane

Mary Grace Deane, age 72, died Monday evening, March 21, 2016, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.

She was born October 8, 1943, at Humnoke, Arkansas, the daughter of Howard and Jessie (Hale) Douglas. A resident of Meade for over thirty years, she was a caregiver, a homemaker, and a school bus driver.

She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.

On December 19, 1960, she married Billy D. Deane at Wichita, Kansas. He precedes her in death on July 16, 2010.

She is survived by:

A daughter, Sletha A. Deane-Chagolla and husband Oscar of Meade, Kansas

A brother, Bill Weaver of Orleans, Nebraska

A sister, Jolene Smith of Wichita, Kansas

Four grandchildren, Lloyd Wiser, Jason Wiser, James & Juli Rentiera, Brian & Kathy Trazzere

Thirteen step-grandchildren Thirteen great-grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her former husband; a son, James Ray Deane; her parents; a brother, John Albert; and a sister, Ora Lee Latta.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Cremation will follow services and private family inurnment be held at a later date.

The family would welcome memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
