Martha Lou Sneath

Martha Lou Dingess Sneath, age 89, passed away Wednesday morning, November 30, 2016, at the Minneola District Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
She was born January 3, 1927, at Ashland, the daughter of Walter S. and Ruth (Small) Dingess. As a young girl, she attended the Englewood Grade School. She attended four years of high school in Meade, graduating in 1944. She also attended Kansas State University. During her high school years, she helped her parents develop the Dalton Gang Hideout. She also played the xylophone on special occasions.
On August 9, 1947, she married Lloyd E. Sneath. They lived in the Mertilla Community, Ulysses, and sixty-five years on their farm northeast of Meade.
She was a member of the Meade United Methodist Church, attending since 1940, also active in the United Methodist Women and enjoyed Maia Federated Club for sixty years.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Jim, Springfield, Missouri, Dan (Jane) Meade, Ken (Chris) Meade; a daughter-on-law, Carolyn Sneath of Hermitage, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Chad Sneath (Leesa), Cara Stortini (Brock), Shana Sneath, Jayson Sneath (Elly), Leah Schlyer (Marshall), Christa Tacha (Lester), Cherie Wohlgemuth (Delvin), Deb Sneath; two step-grandchildren Teri Redd (Mike), and Mike Royston; eleven great-grandchildren, Colton, Chalee, Dominic, Anthony, Brant, Deven, Brinley, Addison, Ava, Cody, Macy; five step-great-grandchildren Jesse, Cheyanna, Mikelah, Dylan, and Haden; and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Dusty and Hadley.
She is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Sneath on May 25, 2010.
Inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the Graceland Cemetery, Meade. Celebration of Life services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Meade United Methodist Church. As she requested, cremation has taken place.
The family would welcome memorials the United Methodist Church or to the Beam Senior Center in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
