Mark Richard Massoni, 72, of Turpin, OK., passed away on Tuesday March 1, 2022 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, MO.

He was born on August 28, 1949 to Jack and Jane (Douglas) Massoni at Liberal, KS.

Mark met Annette Swan of Turpin, OK. In the summer of 1966; on June 10, 1969 they were married at the Turpin Mennonite church near Turpin, OK.

Mark grew up on the rural Kismet farm, immersing himself in the work of the farm and ranch. He was doing a man’s share of the work by the time he was in junior high school. Mark graduated from Southwestern Heights High School in 1967. He attended Kansas State University, Dodge City Community College, and completed the drafting program at Liberal Technical School. He served six years in the Kansas National Guard from 1970 – 1976. Mark & Annette lived in several different places, including Newton, KS., Liberal, KS., and Dallas, TX., before returning to Turpin. Mark’s life’s work was building homes, developing property, and construction management.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Annette, Son, Jordan (Ranee) Massoni of Maryville, TN., Daughter, Hayley (Scott) Cornelison of Camdenton, MO., Brother, Steven (Kelley) Massoni of Tulsa, OK., Two Sisters, Susan (Warren) Fox of Plains, KS., Celia (Jere) Beymer of Billings, MO; Uncles, John Massoni of Sunset, LA., Sam(Nancy) Douglas of Cedar Park, TX., Hugh (Marilyn) Douglas of Sandy, UT; Aunts, Shirley (Ken) Castle of Lubbock, TX. Joan (Larry) Hall of Kingman, KS. Dorothy Douglas of Overland Park, KS.; Five Grandsons, Tyler (Nikita) Olomon, Taylor Olomon, Gavin Massoni, Grayson Massoni, Griffin Massoni; Three Granddaughters, Bayley Olomon, Adde Smith, Jaidey Smith, and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lily, & Aubrey.

He was preceded in death by Parents, Sister, Melissa Massoni, Grandparents, Floyd & Mildred Massoni, and Floyd and Pauline Douglas, his uncles, John Volz & Gene Douglas and aunts, Sharon Massoni & Caren Douglas.

There will be no viewing as cremation was entrusted to Miller Mortuary.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 4:00 pm at the Turpin United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Player officiating.

Memorials may be sent in Mark’s name to the Turpin United Methodist Food Pantry, or a food pantry of the donor’s choice in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826.
