Marion Leon Millege

Marion Leon Millege, son of Vivian (Turner) and Clifford Millege was born at the Alva General Hospital on July 4, 1939. He passed away at Beadles Nursing Home on November 21, 2023 at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 17 days.
He attended the Alva school system and graduated with the class of 1957 he went on to NWOSU receiving his Bachelors of Arts in 1962.
Marion was married on May 24, 1958 to Myrna Veley at her parents home in Alva Oklahoma. To this union two children were born Mike and Michille.
The family moved to Colorado in 1962 where Marion worked for Safeway Grocery Stores. In 1965 they moved to Brownell, Kansas where he had a job teaching and coaching. In 1968 they moved to Plains, Kansas where he continued to teach and coach for 27 years, while also going to summer school at NWOSU to get his Masters Degree in 1970. He retired in 1996 moving to the family farm near Alva, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the Alva United Methodist Church, a member of N.E.A. and Kansas States Teaching Association. He received a plaque for over 300 wins in coaching basketball and was a two-time nominee for Who’s Who in American Teachers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother, Merlin.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Myrna, his daughter, Michille and her son Maxwell and significant other Holly and daughter Arianne. His son Mike and Theresa and their three children, Kelsey, Katey and Kaylee and husband Jory and their two children Andre and Rowen. A number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
