Mario Alberto Mejia-Salcido, age 63, of Ulysses, Kansas died Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Western Prairie Senior Living Community in Ulysses, Kansas.  He was born May 23, 1954, in Riva Palacio Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Alberto and Edwiges (Salcido) Mejia.

Mario married Alma Bustillos on May 7, 1984, in Anuhuac, Mexico. They lived in San Diego, California, Phoenix, Arizona, and settled in Ulysses, Kansas in 1996. Mario was a family man who enjoyed telling jokes and stories. He also followed soccer, and enjoyed watching his kids play sports. Mario was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, and led a good prayer life.  

He is survived by his wife, Alma of the home; sons, Omar Mejia and wife Elizabeth of Dodge City, Mario Mejia of Ulysses, and Alberto Mejia of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings, Leticia Imelda Mejia, Sergio Mejia, Sonia Cristina Mejia, Victor Humberto Mejia, Oscar Obed Mejia, Erika Cecila Mejia; and his twin grandchildren, Emma and Matthias. 

Mario is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Virginia Mejia, Elia Mejia, Maribel Mejia, and Lizbeth Yadira Mejia.

Vigil and rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017, and funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Mexico. Friends may call Monday, November 6, 2017, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
