Mario A. Beltran, age 69, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. He was born December 26, 1948, in Pachera, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Abel and Juanita (Gonzales) Beltran.
Mario grew up in Mexico and came to the United States at the age of 18 years. He married Linda A. Ramos in 1972 in Johnson. He worked for the City of Johnson and then after moving to Ulysses in 1970, he worked for T-L Irrigation for 38 years. Mario also worked for Troy Waechter and Jim Randle, and at The Ulysses News. He loved to play Bingo, cook, play the guitar and sing. Mario will always be remembered for being a hard-worker.
Mario is survived by his son, Mario Beltran, Jr. of Ulysses; daughter, Rosalinda Beltran of Ulysses; sister, Hijinia Beltran of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren, Shayna Beltran of Dalton, Georgia, Liliana Beltran of Dallas, Texas, and Franciso Beltran of Ulysses; and six great-grandchildren.
Mario is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda in 2013; and brother, German Beltran.
Funeral service will be Monday, November 19, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Primera Iglesia Bautista with Reverend Stil Guerrero officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 15, 2018, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, November 16, 2018, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to Mario Beltran Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
