Maria Yolanda Chavez de Garcia

Maria Yolanda Chavez de Garcia, age 59, died Thursday, October 27, 2022,
in El Paso, Texas.

She was born on February 20, 1963, the daughter of Manuel Chavez and Socorro Mendoza Chavez in Chihuahua, Mexico. Maria was united in marriage to Julio Garcia on December 10, 1983, in Mexico. She was the mother to one son, Julio Jr. and two daughters, Cielo, and Rubi. Maria worked as a caregiver for Home Health for many years. She had an extraordinary capacity to love and care for others and provided comfort to many during her life.

She is survived by
Her husband, Julio Garcia of Liberal, Kansas
Son, Julio Garcia Jr., of Liberal, Kansas
Daughters, Cielo Garcia (Anthony Lopez) of Liberal, Kansas, and
Rubi Otero (Jose) of Liberal, Kansas
Brothers, Edgar and Manuel Chavez,
Sisters, Alma Marquez, and
Mireya Chavez, and
Three grandchildren, Alexander Otero, Kenny Otero, and Adriel Lopez Garcia.

Preceded in death by
Both parents, Manuel Chavez and Socorro Mendoza Chavez, and
Infant son Julio

Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 3, 2022, and
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home.

Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2022, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas. Rev. Juan Salas presiding.

Burial to follow at Liberal Cemetery, Liberal, Kansas.
