Maria Luisa Aragon

Maria Luisa Aragon, age 52, died January 1, 2022, at her home in Ulysses, Kansas, surrounded by family. She was born on June 11, 1969, in Mexico, the daughter of Alfonzo and Elva (Lerma) Pando.

Maria grew up and went to school in Mexico. She married German Aragon on February 10, 1990. Maria has lived in Ulysses the last 31 years. She worked as a custodian at the Ulysses High School. Maria loved time spent with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She was a hard worker with a strong work ethic, a great cook, and loved going to church. Maria attended the Iglesia de Cristo Palabra MIEL in Liberal.

Maria is survived by her husband, German Aragon of Ulysses; children, German Aragon, Jr. of Ulysses, Crystal Najera of Ulysses, Jocelyne Licon of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jonathan Aragon of Overland Park, Kansas; father, Alfonzo Pando of Julimes, Chihuahua, Mexico; sister, Dora Cecilia Ortega of Perryton, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with Pastor Hiram Gutierrez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 10:00 AM until service time at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses. Arrangements are in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W.
