Maria Arredondo

Maria Arredondo, age 74, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at her home in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on August 1, 1945, the daughter of Florentino Saenz Michel and Paula Nuńez Barraza in Durango, Mexico. Maria married Joaquin Arredondo on April 4, 1964, in Durango, Mexico. Together they raised three sons, Jesus, Joaquin and Jaime.

She loved to spend most of her time gardening and filling her sons desires with their favorite foods. It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle, when she never stopped fighting. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Just because she is no longer here, doesn’t mean she lost her fight. She will forever be the central figure of our family.

Brothers, Ruben, Jorge, Brigido, y Ernesto Saenz.
Sisters, Flora, Catalina, Mona, y Bertha Saenz.
Grandchildren, Noemi Arely, Erick, Pamela, Claudia, Ilán, Celmari, Kimberly, y Evelyn.
Great grandchild, Faith.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 27, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

Graveside service to follow at the Liberal Cemetery.
