Margaret R. Reimer, age 89, passed away Friday evening, May 17, 2019, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.

She was born November 2, 1929, in rural Meade County, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob J. and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Rempel Bartel. As a young girl, she attended the McNulty Grade School in rural Meade County.

On August 22, 1950, she married Bernhard B. (B.B.) Reimer at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, in rural Meade. After their marriage, the couple made their home in several rural locations, and then retired to their home in the town of Meade. Over the years, she worked at the Lone Tree Lodge in the laundry services, was a volunteer at the Beam Senior Center, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, served as a volunteer AWANA teacher, and a member of the Emmanuel Sewing Circle. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Reimer and wife Lorie of Kansas City, Kansas, and Calvin Reimer and wife Kathryn of Vienna, Virginia; three daughters, Elaine Reimer of Wethersfield, Connecticut, Mary Wright and husband Tim of Warminister, Pennsylvania, and Arla Reimer of Universal City, Texas; two sisters, Bertha Sieffert of Topeka, Kansas, and Esther Whiteman of Andover, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren, Bill Reimer of Grovetown, Georgia, John Parriott and Steve Parriott of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Jennifer Parriott of Kansas City, Kansas, Andrea Groth of Hiawatha, Kansas, Luke Holmes of Manhattan, Kansas, Rachel Perez of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Nathan Wright of Ibague, Columbia, Brian Wright of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Dan Wright of Boyertown, Pennsylvania, Grady Dyck and Reiner Dyck of Universal City, Texas, Matthew Dyck of Beltsville, Maryland, Seth Reimer, Julia Reimer, and Coby Reimer all of Vienna, Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren, Destry Groth and Kayden Groth of Hiawatha, Kansas, Miles Wright of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Rett Reimer and Corbin Reimer of Grovetown, Georgia, Kayla Lanelle and Wyatt Lanelle of Bonner Springs, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband on September 8, 1997; parents; four brothers, Pete, Andy, Martin, and Albert Bartel; and three sisters, Mary Reimer, Kathryn Patton, and Elizabeth Bitikofer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow the services in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Meade.

In lieu of flowers the family would welcome memorials to the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Special Missions Project Fund in care of the funeral home.
