Margaret May Pearce Anderson Collins

Margaret May Pearce Anderson Collins was born March 29, 1933, to Clarence and Emma Pearce in Pritchett, Colorado. They left Pritchett to move to Springfield, Colorado, in 1943. She had two brothers, Floyd and Edmond, and one sister, Violet, all of whom have preceded her in death. She also had a younger brother who died shortly after birth.

She resided in Springfield until 1951 when she graduated high school. That summer she had been invited to go on vacation with her sister-in-law to Denver, Colorado. She ended up finding work and staying in Denver.

She married her first husband, James Anderson on June 6, 1954, and had three children, William “Bill”, Wanda and Esther.  They divorced in early 1959.  He preceded her in death June 6, 1997.  She married Clifford Collins on May 31, 1963, and moved to Ulysses, Kansas. They had one son, Norman.

Although Margaret worked several jobs throughout her life, the one that held the most impact and significance to her and her family was when she worked for Western Prairie Care Home. She worked there for 19 years as a nurses’ aide and medication aide.

Clifford Collins preceded her in death December 24, 1988, from cancer.
She attended the Patterson Avenue Church of God until she moved to Denver.  She attended Sloan’s Lake Community Church and Altitude Church of God in Denver.  She was a very devout servant of the Lord. She raised her children to love the Lord in both the good and bad times and to always be thankful and to help others when they can.
She lived 87 very wonderful years, passing away on May 2, 2020. She will forever be remembered for her generous, kind, loving soul; as well as her love for our Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her four children; William “Bill” Anderson of Holyrood, Kansas, Norman Collins of the home, Wanda Cook of Osage City, Kansas, and Esther Benjamin of Denver, Colorado; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and her cousin, Betty.
