Margaret Leann Herrera, age 54, died on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas.
Margaret, a warm-hearted and dedicated individual, was born on April 5, 1970, in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Ernest Herrera and Betty (Johnson) Garcia.
Margaret graduated from Liberal High School in 1988 before attending the Liberal Area Vo Tech. Margaret’s professional life was characterized by a remarkable 35-year career as a Yields Clerk for National Beef. She was a devoted member of the Believer’s Ministry Church.
Above all, Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother. She found immense joy in raising her son, Aaron, and daughter, Monika, nurturing them with love and guidance, and as a grandmother. Margaret embraced each moment spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her
Son, Aaron Esquibel and his wife Daisy from Turpin, Oklahoma,
Daughter, Monika Falcon and her husband, Gilberto of Liberal, Kansas
Brothers, Daniel Johnson of Liberal, and
Juan Garcia of Ft. Worth, Texas,
Sisters, Penny Herrera of Sublette, Kansas, and
Vanessa Rodriguez of Pueblo Colorado,
Grandchildren,
Hazen Falcon,
Bentley Esquibel, and
Elisa Esquibel due in November,
Nieces and nephews,
Michael Herrera and Andrea Aguilar of Pueblo, Colorado,
Antonio Aguilar and Hector Aguilar of Denver, Colorado,
Juan Garcia, Ayiana Garcia, and Kristtian Garcia of Irving, Texas, and
Ynara Garcia of Fort Worth, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Garcia,
grandparents, Mary Jane Johnson, and George Johnson.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday, September 16, 2024, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Trinity Faith, 2264 S. Kansas Avenue, Liberal, Kansas with Pastor Frank Holman presiding.
An interment will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
