Margaret Ethel (Wilson) Juel, age, 91 of Johnson, Kansas died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson, Kansas. She was born September 4, 1926 near Exeter, Missouri the daughter of George and Lillie (Garner) Wilson.

She spent most of her life in Missouri until she was married. During World War II the Red Cross offered classes in basic nursing which she took and after completing the course she worked in a private hospital until she married her husband of 62 ½ years Louis Juel. In 1956 they moved to Sublette, Kansas where he began working for Diaden Farms and stayed there for 39 years until retiring and moving to Johnson, Kansas.

Maggie as she was affectionately called loved to read, play the piano and crochet, but the job she loved the most was being a wife and mother. Later the word “Grandma” was music to her ears.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, son Boyd and all of her brothers and sisters. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren a son-in-law and a daughter-in law.

Survivors include three sons Gale and wife Ronda, Anthony and wife Connie and Michael Juel. One daughter Christa Kay Barber and husband Wayne, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside service and burial will be Saturday, September 1, 2018, 2:00 PM at the Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson, Kansas with Pastor Mary Courtney officiating. The will be no public calling hours. Memorials may be given to the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
