Madaylne Wilson: UPDATE

Madaylne Wilson, age 92, of Ulysses, Kansas died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born August 5, 1919 in Grant County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas and Della Sarah (Yerian) Whitley.
Madaylne grew up in Grant County near the town of Medford, Oklahoma; living there until the age of 29. She attended rural school for six years then went to town for her remaining high school years. She attended four different colleges and obtained her Elementary Education Degree. She married Melvin Wilson in 1950 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death. Madalyne taught school in Dighton and Garden City, Kansas. A very active and independent thinking woman; she owned and managed rental properties for 30 years. Madalyne always loved horses, enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, water skiing, snow skiing, square dancing, and traveling. Madaylne was a 67 year member of Eastern Star. She was most inspired in her life by her grandmother, mother, and girl students.
She is survived by her son, Leonard Wilson, of Ulysses, Kansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Melva Linda Zweygardt.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Gerry Dupuis officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
