Luella Mae Carrithers

Luella Mae Carrithers, age 87, of Mulvane, Kansas, and formerly of Johnson, Kansas, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Mulvane, Kansas, with her family by her side. She was born July 12, 1931, in Manter, Kansas, the daughter of Courtland and Thelma (Roark) Wartman.
Luella married Bobby Dean Carrithers on January 23, 1954. She was employed at Johnson Co-op for 15 years. Luella then attended Pittsburg State University and graduated in 1979. She retired as an assistant manager from Wal-Mart in 1995. Luella enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
The family wants to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Villa Maria Nursing Home for their love and care for Luella.
She is survived by her children Debra Cohoon and husband Larry of Derby, Kansas, Douglas Carrithers and wife Oma of Southworth, Washington, and Ed Carrithers of Kingston, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jacki Adams and husband Robbie, Kyle Cohoon, Erick Carrithers, and Edgar Carrithers II; and four great-grandchildren.
Luella is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bobby in 1959; and sister, Jean Bitner.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson, Kansas with Reverend Kurt Rovenstine officiating.
