Hooker, Oklahoma- Lowell Cathcart passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Baptist Saint Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He celebrated his 81st Birthday in heaven.

The son of Eva (Speer) and Leo Cathcart, Lowell Ellsworth Cathcart was born on August 16, 1937 on the family homestead just outside of Holly, Colorado. He attended school in Holly, Colorado, graduating with the class of 1957.
Lowell and Russella Hofmeister were united in marriage on May 21, 1961 in Holly. To this union four children were born. In 1971, Lowell and his family moved to Hooker, Oklahoma. This is where he would live until his passing.

Lowell was a great prankster and an all-around kid at heart. He always loved a good joke and stayed active in his kids and grandchildren’s activities. His hobbies included working in his yard and he was a big part of Hooker Main Street by laying the bricks for the new sidewalks. His family were his pride and joy. Lowell worked for Texas County until his retirement.

Lowell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Russella of the home, three daughters Robin Groves of Amarillo, Texas; Angela Swisher and husband, Preston of Haysville, Kansas and Samantha Soell and husband, Craig of Griggs, Oklahoma; one son Monty Cathcart and wife Carol of Hooker, Oklahoma; two brothers Russel Cathcart of Walsh, Colorado and James Cathcart of Holly Colorado; twelve grandchildren, Shayna Allen and husband, Jarrod, Kaden Groves, Anthony Swisher, Dustin Swisher, Erin Swisher, Jade Lamb and husband, Dakota, Kyra Cathcart and fiancé Caleb Smith, Tate Cathcart, Cole Cathcart, Devin McBee, Raylee Soell , and Laremi Soell, one great-grandchild Jasper Swisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Henson~Novak Funeral Home in Guymon with the family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Hooker High School auditorium with the Rev. Lori Kraft officiating. Interment will follow in the Hooker Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hooker firefighters, Hooker E.M.S or the Hooker Cemetery fund with the funeral home accepting the donations at P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
