Louis A. Milburn

Louis A. Milburn, 83, longtime resident of Stanton County, Kansas and Sunsites, Arizona, passed away in Tullahoma, Tennessee on August 27, 2015.
Mr. Milburn was born in Morton County, Kansas in 1931. Later, he and his family moved to Holly, Colorado where he graduated from Holly High School in 1949. After high school, he went through the Army ROTC program at Colorado State University and received an Officer’s commission upon completing his degree in agriculture at CSU in 1954. He served as a field artillery officer in Germany. Four years later, he attended University of Denver and received an MBA. He lived in Los Angeles, California for one year to work as an accountant and decided that he liked farming more so than accounting. In 1961, he returned to farming in Southwestern Kansas where he and his brother John ran the family farm for more than thirty years. In retirement, he resided in Sunsites, Arizona for several years.
Mr. Milburn is preceded in death by parents Louis A. and Lena Johns Milburn and his siblings: Gerald Milburn, Virginia Milburn Golden, John Milburn, and Kathleen Milburn Pratt.
He is survived by John and Lavonda Cathcart Golden of Holly, Colorado; James Pratt of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Dan Pratt of Inyokern, California; and Kenneth and Christine Golden (Garett and Alden) of Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Graveside services will be held at Richfield Cemetery near Richfield, Kansas on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Compassus, 1805 N. Jackson St., Tullahoma, TN 37388. Arrangements are in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, KS 67855.
