Lois J. Weatherman

Lois Jane Weatherman age 85, of Elkhart, Kansas died January 26, 2016 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born February 23, 1930 in Lamar, Colorado, daughter of Thomas Brabb and Theo Kelly.
Lois grew up on a farm and attended school in Chivington, Colorado. On August 4, 1947, she married Gene W. “Tuney” Weatherman in Raton, New Mexico. In 1955, the family moved to the CIG plant north of Elkhart, Kansas. During those years Lois was a mother and homemaker. Around 1965, the family moved into Elkhart, Kansas. Lois worked at Tebow Drug, The T.V. Cable and retired from her career working at Elkhart telephone & cable “Epic Touch”. Lois was an avid craftsman, reader, cook, seamstress, quilter, cut hair and piercing too many ears to count.
Survivors include; two sons, Mike Weatherman and wife Kathy of Sylvan Grove, Kansas, Tom Weatherman and wife Tina of Elkhart, Kansas; two daughters, Judy Davis and husband Mike of Dodge City, Kansas, Trudy Kaup and husband Tim of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents, and two brothers, Don and David Brabb.
Memorial service will be at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 with Pastor Ed Richards officiating. There will be a private family inurnment in the Elkhart Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to Morton County Library in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
