Linda Carol Ray, 72, of Adams, Oklahoma passed away June 14, 2019 at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton, Kansas.
Linda was born March 12, 1947 to Charley and Bufford Isch Daugherty in Sayre, Oklahoma.
Linda move to Hooker with her family as a young child and attended Hooker Public Schools. On March 11, 1994 she married Homer Lee Ray in Adams, Oklahoma where they made their home.
She worked for fourteen years at Hooker High School as a custodian and fifteen years at the Dunaway Manor. Her favorite job came after retirement when she began working at her daughter’s daycare. She enjoyed cuddling and rocking the babies and it made her especially happy that all of them called her grandma.
Linda loved growing flowers, playing games, and spending time with all her grandkids. She was ornery, straight forward and strong. She fought her cancer like a warrior.
She is survived by her daughter, Dusty and Roger Redmond of Hooker, two sons, Terry Journagan and Crystal of Hooker, Stacey Journagan of Hooker; ten grandkids, Sky Redmond, Shaspen and Jake Young, Sheney Redmond, Levi and Keisha Journagan, Cryslen and Fernando Dela Rosa, Brea and Juan Ramirez, Eric Carmondy, Christopher Knoles, Keirston Knoles, Hanna Campbell all of Hooker, nine great grandsons and one great granddaughter; two brothers, Richard Daugherty and Justin & Rhonda Daugherty of Hooker, Oklahoma; one sister, Dixie & Randy Snook of Hooker, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Barbara Keith and Rhonda Mitchell and one brother, Lamar Daugherty.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Hooker Cemetery with Lance Morrisett, minister of the church of Church in Hooker officiating.
