Letha Judd Mathis, 91, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away September 19, 2018 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

Letha was born September 9, 1927 in Guymon, Oklahoma, the daughter of William H and Inez Yeckley Wallis. She grew up in Guymon attending Guymon Schools graduating with the Class of 1946. She worked for First National Bank in Guymon.

 Letha was united in marriage to Don Judd on February 14, 1947 in Liberal, Kansas. They made their first home in Guymon and then moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1950. In 1960 they moved to Hooker, Oklahoma where they bought the Chevy Dealership. Don passed away May 28, 1991.

In 1959, Letha began selling Kirby vacuums and in 1968 she opened her Kirby Business in Guymon which continued until she moved it to Hooker and retired in 2015.

Her passion was her business.

On January 26, 1994 she was united in marriage to Al Mathis. They lived in Hooker. Al passed away December 14, 2001.

She loved her family and her wonderful grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Don and Al, two brothers, Duane Wallis and A.L. Wallis and step son Richard Mathis.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki and Larry Hofferber of Hooker, Oklahoma, Sherri and Doug Lackey of Marietta, Georgia; two step sons, Bob and Ann Mathis of Belle Vista, Arkansas, Bill and Rita Mathis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; step daughter-in-law, Janet Mathis of Golden, Colorado; five grandchildren, Kevin and Jennifer Hofferber of Hooker, Oklahoma, Heath and Jannon Hofferber of Corinth, Texas, Michaela and Jeremy Best of England, Barron Lackey of Marietta, Georgia, Dylan Lackey of Australia; four great grandchildren, Kamryn, Kallie, Jacy, Jake and several step grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Hooker Ambulance Association or the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.

Funeral services will be at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018with Rev. Lori Kraft officiating. Burial will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
