Leta Lorene Miller , age 85, died Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, KS. She was born August 6, 1933, at Natoma, KS the daughter of Paul and Stella (Pruter) Doty.

She attended Natoma High School, Natoma, KS.

While attending her sister’s wedding she met Kenneth Ellsworth Miller. They were married on December 22, 1950 in Natoma, KS. While living in the Natoma area they had three daughters; Kenna, Leta, and Marsha. Kenny’s job took them to Turpin, OK and in 1960 they had their fourth daughter, Paula.

Lorene worked in the Turpin School for years in the cafeteria and as a custodian. After retiring from the school she returned to help when teachers were out and in the detention room. She loved being around the kids at school. There were occasions she went above and beyond by offering to buy kids winter clothes and food. Kids brightened her days. She was blessed with 14 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren. She loved each of them and her relationship with them has left memories for each of them.

Marsha Adkins and husband Dennis Hallsville, MO

Paula Adams Ft. Worth, TX

1 Brother Arvin Doty and wife Lois Natoma, KS

1 Sister Karen Armbister and husband Curt Wichita, KS

14 Grandchildren Melanie McCoy, Shawnna Moses, Caleb McNeil, Heath McNeil, Amy Giessel, Clint Nickeson, Blake Mikles, Brittany Schwarz, Nikki Mikles, Brock Adkins, Ashley Wyer, Garth Adkins, Kendra Ratzlaff and Cassie Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at Turpin High School Auditorium, Turpin, OK with John Moses and Pastor Dennis Finch presiding. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver, OK.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Brenneman Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Turpin Fire Department or St. Catherine Hospice in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
