Leona Miller, 77, of Turpin, OK passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, OK.
She was born on July 15, 1943 to Leonard and Hutoka (Warren) Rieck at Thomas, OK.
On June 4, 1961 she married Delmar Miller at Liberal, KS; he preceded her in death on January 21, 2001.
When Leona was a child her family moved to Liberal, KS. She was a graduate of Liberal High School; class of 1961. In 1976, she and her family moved to Turpin, OK. Leona was a stay at home mom until 1981 when she and her husband started Miller’s Cafe in Turpin, OK and operated it until her retirement in 2016. Leona enjoyed dancing, boating, camping, and cooking; most of all, she loved being with her family. She was a member of Liberal High School Reunion Committee, Turpin Senior Center, Walter Dance Group and attended the First United Methodist Church of Turpin.
Leona is survived by her two daughters, Kay Jackle and husband James of Alva, OK, Paula Bales and husband Jerry of Guymon, OK; son, Michael Miller and wife Robin of Lahoma, OK; two brothers, Marvin Rieck of Hampton, VA, Rodney Rieck of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Joan Milburn of Ottowa, KS, Linda Lunceford of Tyrone, OK; Eleven grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 4 nieces and 8 nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karen Miller, brother, DeWayne Rieck, and sister, Charlotte Rieck.
A Private Funeral Service will be held with a Public Committal Service at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the Liberal City Cemetery with Pastor Stan Lehnert officiating.
