Leola Holmes

Leola Holmes, age 97, a long time resident of Liberal, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Centura Hospice, in Thornton, CO.

She was born in Jefferson City, MO to Julius and Ila Beatrice (Ward) Katzer.

Leola moved to Liberal at age 9. She married Milford Eugene Holmes on May 18, 1935 in Hooker, OK. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1987.

Leola is survived by her children: Barbara Sue Holland and husband, Valdon of Northglenn, CO; Betty Immell of Farmington, NM; Genie Schaller and husband Keith of New Strawn, KS.9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 5 nephews and 1 niece. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and son in law Robert Immell.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Liberal. Interment will be in Liberal City Cemetery following the funeral service.

The family requests that memorials be given to First Presbyterian Church, Liberal, KS.
