Lenora M. Rogers

Lenora M. Rogers, age 84, passed away Friday afternoon, March 12, 2021, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.

She was born November 10, 1936, at Holdridge, Nebraska, the daughter of William Dean and Margaret Pauline (Blakeslee) Schneider.  As a young girl, she attended grade school at a rural country school for one year and later Axtel Grade School, Axtel, Nebraska.  She later graduated from Axtel High School.

In 1955, she married Charles Winfield Rogers at Axtel.  After their marriage, the couple made their home in Nebraska, California and later moving to Meade, Kansas, in 1979.  During her working years in Meade, she worked for Meade District Hospital serving in the kitchen and in the laundry department for twenty-six years.

She attended the Community Church for several years and later attended the Countryside Bible Church in rural Meade County, as well as the Beam Senior Center.  She enjoyed reading, studying the bible, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Martel Rogers of Meade, and Duane Rogers of California; a brother Paul Schneider of McCook, Nebraska; a sister, Carolyn Ruth Schneider of California; six grandchildren, Christopher, Robin, Clayton, Jeremy, Jessica, and Jonathan; and eight great-grandchildren, Garrett, Rachel, Nevaeh, Sylvester, Maxine, Cheyenne, Dillon, and Jackson.

She is preceded in death by a son Charles William (Bill) Rogers; four brothers, James, Robert, Earl and David Schneider; and a granddaughter, MeShell Rogers Flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at the Countryside Bible Church, rural Meade.  Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Cremation will follow services on Tuesday.

The family would welcome memorials to the Lone Tree Retirement Center in care of the funeral home.
