Lenny Criswell, 87, Liberal, KS, died Friday, September 2, 2011,
at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal, KS.
She was born April 7, 1922 at Whitestone, VA, the daughter of
Linzy & Mary J. Lewis Lee.
She attended schools in Virginia. She married Carroll E. "Jiggs"
Criswell on October 29, 1943 in Washington DC, he died
May 23, 1990. Moving to Tyrone community in 1945, she farmed
with her husband retiring in 1982, she also worked at Beech Aircraft,
Liberal for several years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Elks Lodge, Liberal, KS.
She is survived by two daughters, Carole Arellano and husband John,
Garland, TX; Dottie Gibson and husband Jack, Lake Cormorant, MS; one sister,
Edna Fink, Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were conducted 4:00 P.M. Saturday
at Miller Chapel with Greg Turpin presiding.
Inurnment was in the Liberal Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorials to Child’s Fund in care of
Miller Mortuary.
Cremation has taken place.
