Lee Roy Padilla, age 67, of Ulysses, Kansas died Friday, December 15, 2017, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Kansas. He was born January 1, 1950, in Clayton, New Mexico, the son of Merejildo A. and Mollie M. (Cruz) Padilla.
Lee Roy grew up in Ulysses and served in the United States Army. Lee Roy was a truck driver, and retired from Anderson Motors where he detailed vehicles. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, playing Bingo and going to the casinos.
He is survived by his sons, Kenny of Lyons, Roy of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lewis of Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Wayne of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brothers, Abel of Lyons and Merejildo Jr. (Danny) of Ulysses; sisters, Becky Padilla of Ulysses, Gloria Guzman of Arkansas City, Sylvia Moreno of Liberal, Debbie Porras of Liberal, Kansas, and Brenda Padilla of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Lee Roy is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Johnny and Robert.
Vigil service will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 7:00 PM and funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery with military graveside rites by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. Friends may call Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
