Lawrence Leroy Moore

Lawrence Leroy Moore, 85, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society, Liberal, KS.

Lawrence was born November 2, 1929 at Grant County, OK, the son of Samuel Houston and Eva Marie (Bachman) Moore. Lawrence graduated in 1948 from Deer Creek High School in Deer Creek, OK. Lawrence also had attended Northern Oklahoma Jr. College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma and he had served with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1954, two years of which he was stationed in Japan at the Johnson Air Force Base. Lawrence has been a resident of Liberal since 1958.

Lawrence was the owner/operator of Liberal Machine Works for 30 years. Lawrence had also worked for Western Company of Liberal and Ulysses as a welder and machinist and USD 480 as a bus driver for 5 years. Lawrence was a member of the Western Ave Church of Christ, Pancake Campers Club and the First Prestige Club. He loved taking trips, camping and touring throughout the U. S.

On August 8, 1955, he married Wilma Frances Duncan in Ulysses, KS. She survives.

5 Grandchildren Terrie Dickson and husband Damon, Rebecca Moore, Kimberly Taylor, Crystal Moore, Richard Moore and wife Lisa.

4 Great-Grandchildren Zoe and Aiden Taylor, Gavin and Reese Dickson.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Son Larry Moore and 1 Brother Willard Lee Moore.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 30 at Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal with Glen Walton presiding. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Visitation time will be 5 – 8 pm Monday and 9 – 11 am Tuesday at Brenneman Funeral Home.

The Family will be present to greet friends from 7 – 8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
