Laurita Kay Barr

Laurita Kay Barr, age 87, died Monday, April 24, 2023, at her residence in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on April 6, 1936, in Cimarron, Kansas, to Charles Naylor and Luella (Strobel) Naylor.

Laurita graduated from Cimarron High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Donald Gene Barr Sr. on June 19, 1954. Laurita was the mother of four children, one son, Donald Jr. and three daughters, Candance, Melody, and Tammi. She worked as a secretary for many years at the Satanta hospital, and later as an administrative secretary for USD 480. Laurita will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Donald Barr Jr. (partner, Kelli Mills) of Liberal, Kansas, daughters, Candance Boren (Jesse) of Dodge City, Kansas, Melody Gonzalez of Liberal, Kansas, and Tammi Watts (companion, Greg Russell) of Panhandle, Texas, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by parents, Charles, and Luella (Strobel) Naylor, granddaughter, Stephanie Urwin, and daughter-in-law, Janie Barr.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
