Larry L. Gee

Larry L. Gee, age 72, of Ulysses, Kansas died Friday, March 15, 2013 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, Kansas. He was born January 15, 1941 in Syracuse, Kansas the son of William Leonard and Betty (Deyoe) Gee. Larry has been a resident of Grant County his entire Life. He married Gretchen Herbel on December 27, 1958 in Ulysses, Kansas. He attended Ulysses Grade School and Grant County Rural High School in Ulysses. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a Ulysses City Council Member 1987-1995, past President of the Kugler Oil Advisory Board, Past President of the Ulysses Golf Association and a member of the Potato Growers Association. Larry was co-owner of D&G Backhoe Service, owner of L&R Fertilizer, was a self-employed Potato Farmer and worked for Barney Rogers Dirt Contractor. Survivors include his wife Gretchen Gee of the home; Mother, Betty Floyd; two daughters Tammy Oliver and husband Ben and Stacey Gee all of Ulysses, Kansas; two grandchildren, Trace Oliver of Macon Georgia and Taryn Oliver of Manhattan, Kansas; one great grandchild; Kendall Oliver of Macon, Georgia. Larry is preceded in death by his father, and one brother Garry Gee. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Ulysses, Kansas. Inurnment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Cremation was chosen and there will be no public calling Memorial contributions may be given to Morton County Special Care Unit in Elkhart, Kansas in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, Kansas 67880.
