Larry Dean Hill

Larry Dean Hill, age 73, formerly of Ulysses, Kansas, died Sunday, February 7, 2021, at his home in Amarillo, Texas.  He was born July 19, 1947, in Fowler, Kansas, the son of Holmes “Budd” and Hazel (Adams) Hill. 

 

Larry grew up in Fowler, Kansas, and graduated from Fowler High School.  He married Lynn Carol Hauser on July 3, 1969, in Wichita.  Larry retired from AMOCO after 27 years of service.  Larry was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed hunting, fishing, participating in shooting sports, and playing golf.

 

Larry is survived by his wife, Lynn of their home; son, Chris Hill and wife Jodi of Amarillo, Texas; daughter, Shanna Heilman and husband Paul of Colleyville, Texas; five grandchildren, Mikayla, Alex, and Mackenzie Winger, Preston Maxwell, and Ashton Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews

 

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; Budd and Hazel; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Rosalie Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Letha and Jim Gumpenberger; and son-in-law, Stacey Winger. 

 

Memorial service will be Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor James Berry officiating. There will be a private family inurnment at Ulysses Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, Kansas 67880.
