Larry D. Wenta

Larry D. Wenta, age 67, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022, at his rural Fowler homestead.

He was born May 28, 1954, at the Fowler Hospital, the son of Leo S. and Betty A. (Post) Wenta.

A lifetime resident of Fowler, he attended the Fowler school system and graduated in 1972. He was an adjuster for Rain and Hail and worked at Winter Livestock. Also a member of the Meade Roping Club, USTRC, former board member of the Dodge City Days Rodeo. He enjoyed team roping, riding horses, especially riding in the Fowler Threshing Days, socializing, and spending time with friends and family.

He married Brenda Zimmerman , October30th, 1976. Three children were born, Brandan, Jared and Haley. He later married Marla Klein.

He is survived by his son Jared (Ashton) of Satanta, daughter Haley Cole of Fowler, daughter in law Melisha Jones (Lanny) of Hays. Grandchildren: Kade Wenta , Kace & Kamdyn Wenta, Kane & Jasper Cole and Maddox Jones. Siblings: Steve (Linda) of Summerfield, FL; Barbara Beckerman of Fowler; Carl of Monte Vista, CO; Deborah (Sam) Boese of Dodge City; Donie(Tanya) of Monte Vista, CO

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathy and his son Brandan 7-17-07

Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at the church. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.

The family would welcome memorials to the Larry Wenta Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
