Kim Elaine Hockett, 53, passed away June 30, 2019 at her home, Satanta, KS.
Kim Elaine Swift was born into this life on November 24, 1965 in Eldorado, KS to Jewell P. Swift Jr and Kay Frances (Seibel) Swift. The family moved to western Kansas in 1977. Kim spent most of her adult life as a resident of Satanta. Kim left this life due to complications of ALS.
Kim attended schools in Cottonwood Falls, Ulysses and Satanta KS and earned her GED in Satanta KS in 1983. She attended Seward County Community College, Liberal Ks. She worked 9 years for Satanta District Hospital, Satanta Ks and 12 years for Service Janitorial Supply Inc., Liberal Ks. She was employed for two years by Dream Protectors Insurance Solutions in La Junta Co.
Kim enjoyed listening and dancing to classic rock and metal music, reading, crocheting, drawing, cross-stitching, puzzle books, gardening, baking, and cooking but her happiest times were those spent with her family, especially with her children and grandchildren. She treasured being her grandchildren’s Momo and thoroughly enjoyed taking them on grand adventures.
Kim was diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS in January 2019. She had an aggressive form of the disease and opted to begin receiving hospice care in April 2019. The family is forever grateful to the hospice team at Centura Health/St. Catherine’s for all their assistance.
Kim married (Michael) Joe Randolph in Satanta KS on March 4, 1988. Together they raised Michael, Beth, and Mason. Joe left this life suddenly on September 1, 2009.
Kim married Dusty Hockett in Lakewood Co on November 12, 2013.
Survivors includes, husband Dusty Hockett of the home; mother, Kay Swift , Satanta, KS., two sons, Mason Randolph, Manhattan, KS., and Michael Randolph, Garden City, KS., two daughters, Beth Sherrill, Billings, MT., and Victoria Hockett, Liberal, KS., brother, Dean Swift, Reading, KS., and six grandchildren Brayden, Matthew, Jackson and Tiffany Sherrill and Carson and Riley Grace Randolph.
She was preceded in death by her father, her brother Allen Wayne Swift, maternal grandparents Roy and Evelyn (Underhill) Seibel, paternal grandparents Jewell P Swift Sr and Rose (Everett) Swift.
Memorials has been established for St. Catherine Hospice. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 747, Satanta, KS 67870.
Cremation has taken place.
