Kenneth R. (Kenny) Padgett

Kenneth R. (Kenny) Padgett, age 86, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.
 
He was born December 2, 1931, in rural Fowler, Kansas, the son of James Ralph and Gladys Emma (Anderson) Padgett.  As a young boy he attended the Fowler school system, graduating from Fowler High School in 1950.  After his graduation, he began his career as a farmer. 
 
He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Jaycees, CCC Club, served on the Fowler School Board, and had served on the Fowler Road Board.  He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, playing cards, family reunions, and spending time with his family and friends.
 
On September 22, 1950, he married Eunice R. Gardner at Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.  She survives.
 
Other survivors include three sons, Larry Padgett and wife Sonya of Meade, Jeff Padgett and wife Marshan of Meade, and Mike Padgett of Abilene, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Oliver, Lyman, and Dennis Padgett; and a sister, Evelyn Edwards.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the First Christian Church, Fowler.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.
 
The family would welcome memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home
