Kenneth M. “Kenny” Lozar Jr., age 49, of Ulysses, Kansas died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born September 8, 1964 in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Kenneth Martin Sr. and Judith Ann (Downey) Lozar.
Kenny grew up in Ulysses, Kansas; and also lived in Louisiana and Missouri for a short time. Kenny graduated from Ulysses High School. He worked for the State of Kansas; and for the last 23 years, was a journeyman lineman for Pioneer Electric. Kenny was also co-owner of The Iron Horse. He married Tyra Lee on March 8, 2014 in Ulysses. He loved Harley Davidson and Big Dog motorcycles. Kenny enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting, and collected guns.
He is survived by his wife, Tyra of the home; sons, Jason Lozar of Ulysses, Kansas, Leif Elliott of Garden City, Kansas, Jamey Lozar of Ulysses, Kansas, Shane Olson of the home; daughter, Sara Olson of the home; mother, Judy Lozar of Kirbyville, Missouri; sister, Karin Gwin of Quapaw, Oklahoma; and one grandson, Ayden Lozar.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lozar Sr. in 2012; and daughter, Andrea Lozar.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Sam Bynum officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas.
