Kenneth Eugene Hudgens, 81, of Johnson, Kansas passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. He was the son of Louis and Bessie “Williams” Hudgens, born October 15, 1935 in Johnson, Kansas.
He graduated from Johnson High School in 1953 and attended Panhandle State College. Kenneth was united in marriage to Lois Woolery on December 29, 1961 in Syracuse, Kansas. He worked at the City of Johnson, Western Feed Yard, and Collingwood Grain all of Johnson. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, horse, dogs and roping. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Johnson.
He is survived by wife, Lois Hudgens of Johnson; one daughter, Patricia and her husband Jeep Shanks of Abilene, Texas; one son, David Hudgens and wife Sheri of Johnson; five grandchildren, Nikki and husband David Blake, Kami and husband Colby Dodds, Kennedy Wilcox, Kadence and Kourtney Hudgens; four great-grandchildren, Craig and Cade Dodds, Hagan and Embry (due in November) Blake; mother-in-law, Lillian Woolery; and sister-in-law, Ina Faye Hudgens; and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth is preceded in death by son, Michael Hudgens; parents, Louis and Bessie “Williams” Hudgens; brother, William Lee “Bill” Hudgens; father-in-law, Floyd Woolery; and sister-in-laws, Vida Post and Wanda Jones.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, Kansas with Reverend Richard Fitzgerald officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas.
